hi to all the tarpon have a arrived in the tampa bay area and the bridges in big numbers. big sardines or threadfins are the best bait to catch them but by far the best place to catch tarpon is boca grande pass. with live crabs or jigs they are in there by the 1000,s with some boats hooking 10 fish or more in a 5 hour trip. so if you want to catch a tarpon the time is now also the trout bite is good in the deep grass flats 0f 5 feet deep or more. scaled sardine are the best bet! there is also a lot of spanish macks all all the bridges as well. sardines are also the bait of choice! there are also some snook biting as well but please be careful to release the snook unharmed. as they try to make a comeback after this years big fish kill do to the cold! so now is time to book your charter tight lines capt tony frankland. |

Hi to all. Welcome to the fishing report!
On charters in the last week we have caught some snook ,redfish, and trout, with big catches of spanish macks.
Look for more of the same type of fish to bite as the weather get warmer and the water temp rises.
Thats all for now
Tight lines,

Hi again to everyone!
Trout are still the best bet for a good fishing day.
They are still biting around the canals in the Tampa Bay area and around the local power plants!
Also the shark fishing has also been good around the power plants in the Tampa Bay area.
Live shrimp have been the best bet!
Berkley gulp shrimp and jigs have also worked good on the trout.
There has also been some redfish caught! With the weather getting warmer it is time to book your charter soon!
Tight lines,
Capt. Tony Frankland
