Hi to all. The snook bite is on in full force in the south shore area of the backcountry with some redfish being caught in the same area.
Also some flounder have been caught . The bite should stay steady as the water temp will stay low for the next month.
Now is the time to book your charter with me.

Hi again to all. The trout bite has been good in the deep water canals of the Ruskin area. Specks, silver trout ,and whiting, are all biting right now. Sheephead are also biting.
The cold water temp has the snook bite slow right now, but that will get better as the water warms up.
The best bait right now is live shrimp free lined or with a small split shot to get the bait down as the fish are right on the bottom right now.
Tight lines.

Hi again to everyone. Well it has been a cold week for Florida! Most of the fish that have been caught in the south shore area of Tampa Bay have been caught in the deep water canals of Apollo Beach and the Ruskin area. They have been caught on live shrimp and on jigs. The type of fish that have been caught this week are black drum, redfish, and sheephead. These have been the best to bite.
A few snook have also been caught as have some silver trout. There also a lot of black tip sharks on the flats that can be caught on shrimp and cut bait. A chum bag will also help draw them to the bait
Stay warm and tight lines.

Hi everyone, here is my new report.
There have been a lot of trout in the 6 foot deep area off the grass flats of Tampa Bay. There has also been a lot of redfish in about 1 foot and a half foot range of water. This is real good for sight fishing but they are real spooky in the shallow water.
Snook are in the back creeks of the south shore area. There has also been some grouper on the edge of the ships channel being caught on deep diving plugs. Scaled sardines are the best bait for the snook.
Also special thanks to good friend Captain Rob Burns for letting me use his boat last week for a charter I had when my boat was in the shop. It pays to have good friends. That's all for now.... back soon with a update.
Tight lines,
- Capt. Tony Frankland
